Historical Tour Categories in the Museum and Village

In order to make a visit to the Freeborn County Historical Museum and Village a learning experience, perhaps the groupings of exhibits shown below will be of some help as you plan your tour of the FCHM. Because of limitations of space and because some village exhibits relate to exhibits inside the museum, not all similar exhibits are grouped in proximity to each other. One line under an item indicates the exhibit is on the bottom floor of the museum, a star refers to the village, and all other exhibits are on the top (2nd) floor. It is helpful to realize that several exhibits can relate to each other historically. In some instances, comparisons can be made, in others historical sequence will be important. Obviously, these are not all the possible groupings, and it is important to realize that others exist which will help your learning experiences here at the FCHM.
