Ascension Lutheran Church Notes from the Director of Music   Music   CHOIR NEWS The "Cherub Choir" (ages 3 to 2nd grade) For questions, please contact Brenda Herr. Adult Choir - Choir Rehearsal The Ascension Choir will be singing Sunday, May 4 on Confirmation Sunday. In preparation for this special day there will be rehearsal both Sunday, April 13 and April 27 at 9:45 am. All voices are welcome. Any questions please call Bonnie Jensen at 373-1934. THE ASCENSION CHOIR PROGRAM Ascension Lutheran Church has four choirs, the Alleluia Choir, the Cantate Choir, the Epiphany Choir, and the Jubilate Choir. In addition to the choirs, we also have string ensembles at Easter and and a brass ensemble at Christmas. The choirs participate regularly on Sunday mornings and for festival services. We continue to grow musically and spiritually in the choirs and in the life of the congregation. We also have special worship services during Lent and Advent with the participation of many of the youth from our congregation.  We urge you to consider being a part of the worship experience not only by singing in one of the choirs, if that is your forte, but by being a lay reader, communion assistant, or an usher. Please consider helping out on a Sunday morning.   Choirs at Ascension It is time to warm up the voices and join choir. This year the choirs will again take on the leadership role of worship leaders. It doesn't take much time, only one hour a week and a couple Sundays a month. You are in church already, right? So join the choir - we do have a lot of fun. It will be a wonderful year of renewing ourselves with our Lord Jesus Christ. We will be singing and learning wonderful music that will not only build our faith, but that of the congregation.  ALLEUIA CHOIR will sing once in the fall, on Christmas Eve with the Cantate Choir, once in the spring, and Festival Sunday. The Alleuia Choir includes Kindergarten and 1st grade students. The Alleuia Choir CANTATE CHOIR will sing once every month during the year, occasionally every other week (alternating services), and for Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve., one Lenten Service, Easter Sunday, and Festival Sunday. The Cantate Choir includes 2nd through 6th grade students. The Cantate Choir EPIPHANY CHOIR (GRADES 7 - 12) - Epiphany Choir will meet from 6:00 to 6:55 pm. This choir is open to all students in 7th through 12th Grades. The choir sings an average of twice a month. Come and join the fun of singing and growing spiritually. The Epiphany Choir JUBILATE CHOIR (ADULTS) - The Jubilate Choir will rehearse from 7:00 to 8:10 pm. We always welcome singers to the Choir. The Jubilate Choir sings an average of three Sundays Month, alternating between the 8:30 and the 10:45 am service. We have great fellowship, a fun time learning music, as well as a brief choir devotion each week. There will be a short fellowship time following rehearsals for those who wish to stay for a cup of coffee or juice.  The Jubilate Choir
